Vintage Original Oil Painting on Canvas - Autumn Barns 36 x 26 cm

PREVOUSLY SOLD - PLEASE DO NOT ADD TO BASKET

A beautiful atmospheric rural landscape Vintage/Antique oil painting depicting a traditional farm settlement or village scene with thatched cottages, trees and open fields beneath a softly clouded blue-grey sky. The painting features a wonderfully muted palette of earthy browns, ochres, russets and dusty blues, giving it a charming, timeworn character. This unique piece has an impressionistic/expressive quality, with visible texture and fairly loose brushwork. The subtle texture of the paint and mellow patina speak of the painting's age and authenticity.

Painted on stretched canvas with an aged wooden stretcher and traditional construction to the reverse, with mitred joints and stretcher support keys. It likely dates back to the early to mid 20th Century. There are some signs of age to the canvas in keeping with the paintings age, however the patina only seems to add to it's rustic appeal.

Signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner, JW Lacey.

A particularly decorative and characterful piece for a traditional, cottage or country-style interior, ready for the frame of your choice.
